  • Traumatic experiences such as violence, abuse, sexual assault, war zone exposure, or life-threatening illnesses or accidents, both in childhood and adulthood. Sometimes, experiences such as these result in PTSD.
  • Highly stressful experiences, such as divorce, the end of a relationship, the death of a loved one, or facing a health crisis
  • Significant role or identity transitions, such as retirement, coming out, becoming a parent (or not), or career changes
  • Chronic stress and burnout from over-work and being too hard on yourself

Trauma and stress can create confusion, emotional upheaval and pain, and a change in your understanding of yourself and the world. Understanding and creating meaning out of these experiences can be accomplished through dialogue in a safe space.
